Report: Kathmandu Humanitarian Mini-Maker Faire

Location: - Map It STATUS: Active

Following the success of our collaboration with Communitere on the Mobile Resource Unit (MRU) in Black Rock City 2016, BWB was invited to participate in the world’s first Humanitarian Maker Faire in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Several Burners, including BWB Program Director Christopher Breedlove, packed up a variety of the tools from the MRU and flew out to Kathmandu to set-up the initial phase of the Makerspace for the event.  Working alongside DPW Nathan ‘Witchdoctor’ Doe, the Makerspace was set-up in 3 days and ready for participants.  BWB led workshops inside the space throughout the weekend which culminated in robot effigy building day and burn.
