May 5th 2006 Burners Without Borders recently finished a public service project, cleaning up Ocean Beach in San Francisco, while also handing out flyers about the proposed ban on beach burns in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
About 25 people came and helped out through the afternoon and evening, following which we had a nice potluck dinner, and brilliant couple of burns. Thanks to Larry Breed for the pagoda, Blue for bringing the remains of the Hayes Valley Temple, Spoon for bengiets, and everyone else for helping fill 15 garbage bags of gunk---hard work when it's all small bits of plastic. See images: here Thanks to Dan Bradley for the great shots.
The cleanup, and our potential upcoming work, got a nice little mention: in the Bay Guardian
