BWB will be strengthening the ever growing partnership with EDV.  By giving $500 of the communities money to this start-up organization we will better our collaboration in disaster response.  This partnership proved its importance following the Italian Earthquake. EDV members Andy and Emma worked with Italian Burners on the ground and kept us in San Francisco informed of the areas needs.

European Disaster Volunteers (EDV) is a new organisation that works in disaster zones worldwide to help communities recover from the devastating effects of natural disasters. As a new organisation we are excited to add our personal experiences and unique voice to the world of disaster recovery. The launch of this site is our first step on the way to affecting permanent change in the lives of those affected by disaster.

Volunteering with EDV is different from many other volunteer opportunities in two major ways: We don't charge a joining fee, and we believe that anyone can make an impact in a disaster zone. You don't need to be a doctor, structural engineer, or rich to assist in the recovery of communities devastated by disaster. Even if you can't join us in a disaster zone, you can still make an impact volunteering from home.
