Bounty Farm Billboard Work Party June 13th

Burners Without Borders is proud to announce the completion of the first project funded by the BWB Community Stimulus Package. BWB funded the materials for a community created billboard (see below) that will point the larger community to the organic bounty available to them locally.
This invitation and update from the Bounty Farm.
Come check out what’s been planted at the Bounty Farm since our May work day. The fields are filling up quickly and the brown landscape is slowly becoming beautiful shades of green.
At this work day we will be building adobe bricks with Miguel Elliot who will be teaching the cob oven and bench workshop on June 20th and 21st. If you are excited about building with natural materials, please sign up for this workshop. You will get a taste of building with adobe at this work party while we sculpt bricks for the Bounty Farm oven and benches.
Also at this work party, the Bounty Farm mural will be unveiled by
the talented Phoenix Theater artists that designed and painted it. The
final sign will stand 8 feet tall and 20 feet wide close to the
greenhouse where the old barn fell down.
Here is a sneak preview of the mural:
The Bounty Farm chicken and a bountiful basket of fruits and vegetables.

We will be having a picnic lunch around noon. Bring something to share if you feel inspired or just bring something for yourself.
If we have time after lunch, we will work on weeding the hedgerow plants on the north border of the farm, planting some perennials and bulbs in the front along Shasta Ave. and cleaning up around the new Bounty Farm mural.
What to bring (if you have them):
- good food and/or drinks to share (we always have a yummy lunch together around noon)
- bowl or plate and silverware (so we don’t create too much waste)
- sturdy boots, strong gloves, sun screen and hat
- digging tools (shovels, trowels, pick ax) if you have them
You can expect some good old fashioned hard work, getting dirty, and learning together, while we continue to grow this great community farm. Please bring your friends and family of all ages.
